PINEWOOD DERBY 2011

Bug had his 1st Pinewood Derby event this year. He was given a kit about 3 weeks ago, and had to draw out a design for his car...and then a theme to paint on it.

This called for a DADDY/SON project!~

So Bug drew out the shape he wanted the car and said the only thing he HAD to have on it was FLAMES and it had to be blue like Sonic the Hedgehog. Easy enough right?

Yup!~ :) Brad cut out the shape he drew and then they went to the hobby shop and picked out the paint and weights (his car had to be as close to 5 oz as possible)...SO...

$6 later, and they were set.....and BOY WAS BUG EXCITED!

He worked on it.....

It is quite funny because the DAD's are all tweaking the cars, lubing them up and worrying about the race...while the boys run wild..and could care less... :)

He lost one heat (out of 4)and made 4th....(really it was 3rd, but they judged wrong...I think it was harder for ME to not make a stink about the error than it was important to Bug...but in the end I held my tongue since the point is sportsmanship and FUN...and he had a great time! and i learned a lesson myself lol)

It was a GREAT day of fun....and we look forward to coming back next year! :P

ADULT Halloween Party 2010

My brother Josh had a halloween party this year..for adults only. It was a BLAST!

Brad and I got different costumes.

Josh said my Cleopatra costume wasn't..and I quote.."good enough"...

So we did some last minute shopping and.....

He went has Goose and I went as Maverick from the movie "Top Gun"..

Some of the other costumes were HILARIOUS!!

We all had fun and even played a game of "who am I?"...where you get a sticker on your back with a famous person on it, and you go around asking yes or no questions and try to figure out who you might be! After you guessed you stuck the name in front and got another sticker. Person with the most stickers at the end of the night won. (there was only one person doing the sticking)...

We all dressed up! It was fun....I hadn't been to a costume party since college! :)

***side note*** I have to say though, that I have a BEEF with the costume makers these days...EVERY single costume I looked at was slutty. I mean the skirt reached the bottom of your butt, and they wanted to display all you had to offer!

Ummm....SO not appropriate for me to wear around KIDS! Let alone other men! lol

The ONLY thing I could find was Cleopatra...and even then I had to adjust the dress so that I wasn't "exposed" in the front! But I liked the end result and felt at least..."covered"... :)

Beach Trip 2010-Bethany Beach, DE

We went to Delaware this year for our annual Talcott reunion, instead of the good ol' Jersey Shore. I have to admit...I enjoyed it more. The house was nicer...the beach was nicer...and the over all feel of the trip seemed calmer.



It was So fantastic to see everyone again. I dont' know if I posted last year...as we were in the middle of finding a home, but we DID go...and ended up having to leave after one day due to Sam getting EXTREMELY ill and requiring a trip to the Jersey ER. So we were there less than 24 hours!!~ lol This year...MUCH better! :)

This year however...we enjoyed EVERY second of it. Even though it was shorter than usual. Due to Brad's work and a prior commitment of mine).... We fit in as much as we could, and had a blast. They had a boardwalk there though we had to drive 25 min to Ocean City. It was worth it and we spent a night riding rides and enjoying the funnel cake, ice cream, and "boardwalk fries". On Sunday we hit the beach again. Brad and I had some romantic time to ourselves while grandma watched the kids. It was so nice! :) And MUCH needed :) Though Brad not feeling very well kinda out a damper on our last day...but not really lol...i LOVE the beach!~
