Christmas Eve 2010

What a wonderful Christmas Eve it was too! :)

We went to Josh's house to celebrate since Grandma (my mom) and Grandpa came up from N.C. They stayed with us the first half of the week, and then with him until Christmas. Nana (Brad's mom) and Pappy also came over from PA...they joined us for dinner at Josh's and then stayed with us for Christmas. It was sooo much fun and we are so thankful they came! :)

We had a wonderful dinner of Ham AND Turkey (made on the grill!!)...and as usual Trovena went out of her way to make sure we were all fat and happy when we left! :) HUGE thanks Tee! :)

We played our annual chinese fire drill...the prize fought over this year was a 6 pack of Coke bottles....AND of course the thing KK wanted (a huge Hershey Kiss)... she got it and cried if anyone tried to take it. She hasnt quite gotten the hang of the game yet...plus add a little tired to the mix and it calls for an interesting time! :)

She did end up with it inthe end though so all was well! (thank goodness! lol)

Tomorrow is Christmas....and I'm sure I'll have TONS of pictures to share.,..

for now here are a few I took while Grandma and Grandpa were here along with some from Josh's....

he only people missing were Popo and Papa...but they were DEF there in spirit!! We thought of them the entire time!

We are going to bake a cake for Jesus's birthday (as we do every year)....after all it is the reason for the season...right? KK is so excited and says Jesus has the best birthday ever. She REALLY loves singing to him! :)

Well, I am super excited to see what Santa brought Brad! :) *winks*.....so far my super idea of hiding it right out in the open has worked...it is so huge...and he hasn't even seen it!! :P lol not that it says much for his observation skills! lol

Fall Fun 2010 + A Surprise

Leaves, leaves, and more leaves!~ :)

We have a huge yard surrounded by forest so we get about 3 ft of leaves each year.

Cleaning them up is half the fun! :)

I can't get over how fast 2010 has gone. What a year it has been. So much stuff has happened...and yet here we are....

My goobers. I love them So...

ARE YOU READY FOR THE NEW SURPRISE?

I am STILL in disbelief....

but..............

we got a puppy!~ from the SPCA.....

Meet Biscuit.....(once Midget)...

Brad is happy as pig in poop...he has worked on me for a LONG time for this!...

So is Bug... :)

He is a 5 month old hound mix....and is SUCH a good boy!!!!!

We REALLY got lucky with him. He is so calm and loving and a great listener. He isnt potty trained but so far has been awesome at learning. We are currently crate training him...and so far....so AWESOME! :)

Here he is on the first day we brought him home....he is SUCH A CUTIE!

You must be wondering how this all came about. As I was ADAMANT about not having another animal.

After all...who normally gets stuck with everything at the end of the day?? ME.

Well...that being said...

Bug takes SUCH good care of Missy(the kitty) and his responsibilty of her litter and food....PLUS he got on the A/B HONOR ROLL!!!!!! So I compromised....

we could get a puppy as long as I wasnt picking up ANY of the poop.....

Brad WHOLE heartedly agreed, and Sam and him made a pact to teamwork it.

So we went to the pound on Sat...JUST to look.

We saw Biscuit (formely Midget)...

and Brad FELL IN LOVE.

We took him into a room to check his temprement and how he behaved around cats, and he did great.

I STILL wasnt sold though.

After all a dog is a HUGE undertaking.

We slept on it.

Went back Sunday around 2 to take him outside to see his mannerism...

He sold us. :)

He was such a great dog it was like he was meant to be part of the "pack" (THANKS CEASER).

So now we have 6 members of the family. :)

I think we are finally complete!! scratch that...

I KNOW we are! :)

McKayla's 1st Day of School!!~

I CAN NOT believe it! (say in the Little Einsteins voice)

My "baby" is no longer a baby! She is OFFICIALLY a Pre-Schooler!!!

She has been waiting for this day since we went and checked out schools around our area back in Nov. I, however, can probably wait another, oh, 4-5 years! :)

It's funny.....but it seems SO much HARDER this time around then HERE..when it was Sam's 1st day!!

I re-read that post...and I guess it was just as hard. But there... I at least had Kayla as my distraction...NOW...I go home to an empty house~ Can I handle it? Stay tuned to find out! :)

Well hello everyone!!

Long time no see eh? weel, I guess thats the price you pay for living in the country. We have no cable. Therefore we have dial up internet....

thats right.you read correctly..it DOES still exsist! I really didnt know that! lol

ANYWAY...we FINALLY upgraded to an aircard and I'mmmmm baaaaaaaaccccccccckkkkk!!!!

So now I have to update for the last 6 MONTHS!!! I can't believe it is December all ready!! ANd that we are in a new state..in a new house...with a new member of our family!

Anyway...here is the last 6 months in a Nuthshell! :)

We have moved from Whispering Pines, NC to Midland, VA. And though we were thrilled to be back as a family again...I feel it's ironic that I am moving (have moved) back to the ONE place I said I would NEVER go back to. (Good one God!....that's 3 "ill show you's")..

ANYWAY....Here is the house! We LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE X 10000000 it!!!! :P

Sam is now 7 and started 2nd grade at Grace Miller...and is struggling. He is used to doing things the way Sandhills did them, and having all the friends and buddies he used to have..and now he has gone to this school where the class sizes are MUCH bigger (instead of 18:2 its 25:1)... Academically he seems to struggle as well, as the teacher gives the lesson...and expects you to get it the FIRST time. I also see that his age plays a MAJOR role in his level of understanding things. He is an AWESOME reader!!...but is so focused on the words that he isnt taking in what he is reading and understanding it. I have a meeting with his reading teacher this week to see what we can do....I am REALLY debating home schooling him next year...but at the same time feels he needs this to LEARN to adjust to situations. I HATE these choices!~!!! Sam is into Mario, Sonic and a Penguins of Madagascar. He also enjoys Phineas and Pherb. He is still as sweet as ever and STILL a momma's boy! :)

Mckayla is STILL a monster. She is the SWEETEST girl, and says the funniest things...BUT she can also be such a MOUTHY little thing too!! I have no idea where she gets it..but she is as belligerent as they come! I swear its from her fathers side. He begs to differ! lol She is 4 now and starting preschool in a few days! SHe is SUPER excited and SOOOOO ready to be away from mom. She is really into dolls, and barbies, and stuffed animals. Her favorite changes from week to week, but she loves them ALL!!! She LOVES to be read to and LOVES LOVES LOVES crafts.

Brad is working his butt off...as a matter of fact he is out of town AGAIN this week. He has been gone for most of Dec...running from install to install around VA..and even almost to Tennessee. We are SO thankful for the work though, so you'll hear no complaints from us!!!!

As for me...I am seriously thinking about going back to school for my nursing. I am looking into grants and what not to see what I can qualify and apply for! The kids are getting older and I am SO ready to be out in the world again! :)

BOTH the kids had their birthdays.....Sam's was a Penguin of Madagascar theme and we had it here at the house complete with a bouncer and cotton candy machine!! It was a HUGE hit..and I'll post pics soon!! Mckayla had a MUCH smaller scaled one...at chuck e cheese's with just us and another friend. She had a BLAST though and didn't notice! :)

Then we had halloween 09 spent at Josh's since he lives in a neighborhood... Here are the kids!
