I finally got some video of Drama Mama reading her first book. I made sure she hadn't memorized it by covering the pictures and picking random pages. :o) Here she is reading it...you HAVE to wait until the end though as she had me in STITCHES with her random comments...

KK read her first book!!!

All by herself!! To me!~

I love this series. It was recommended to me by our local librarian, and i figured KK was WAY ready to start reading!

After all Bug was already reading and in kindergarten! I wish she had made the date to start this year. She is so ready for school!~

We started this on Monday and have been working on recognizing the letters for some time now. This series has helped with recognizing the SOUNDS the letters make and putting them together.

They have to know the letters to start.

As far as KK not being in school I really cant complain, since its more time I get to spend one on one with her! I love my daughter! :o)

And I love teaching her things and watching her delight when she "gets it" :o)

I am SO blessed!!

Anyway..i am hoping i can upload a picture of the book she read but my android may only let me post one.

We'll see!

Cant wait for daddy to get home from work so he can help wipe the grin off my face...but then again..who will wipe the grin off his? Lol

Four score and seven years ago...

He is ready for his report today.

They had to work on a report for the last 3 weeks on Abraham Lincoln. He did such a great job. Now he has to go dressed in character..and read it in front of the class.

Each student was someone that made a difference in history..and this was who Sam chose.

I can't wait to hear how it went!

Surprise!!

We decided to head up to PA since it has been a long time, and Bryan had just bought a house.

I came up with the bright idea of surprising Nana and Pappy..since it was decided on such notice..

Well..against the protests of BOTH her sons...(their argument that she would rather know and take the day off of work)..I stuck with my plan..

We arrived in PA around 9:30ish Friday night to Bryan's...
chit chat a bit and play some duck hunting...then its off to bed.

Saturday morning comes and the plan is to have her come over to the house for brunch...the kids were beyond excited and KK decided the best spot for her to hide would be the tub. It took a lot of convincing to have her wait in the kitchen.

In comes Nana and out pop the kids. She was very surprised...especially since she had texted a few days before that, that she hoped we could make it here soon.

But then I heard her say "i wish I had known so I could have gotten someone to cover for me"....
And then the dreaded 'i told you so' followed by smug 'in your face Kristi' looks. Now its bad enough coming from my husband..but throw in my brother in law....
BRATS!!

Oh well...she did manage to find someone after all...and they are over at the movies watching 'Gnomeo and Juliet'.

They were so excited to go as it is a special privilege to do that. :o)

Well, its only saturday afternoon and we have a fabulous evening planned..I am super excited...we may head out to the 'Rainbow'..

I am SO thankful for my man!

I got the brand new 4G "HTC Inspire" cell phone, and Brad got a 12 pack of Samuel Adams Winter Lager...

Who made out in THAT deaL?? LOL

No, but in ALL fairness...the phone I had for the last 2 years finally broke (the touch screen stopped working)...and THATS why I got the awesome phone...it just happened to be Valentines Day..:o)

Kids are LOVING today...it's like Christmas to them for some reason (maybe all the candy lol)...they have been jabbering non stop!~

We Lost...

Oh well, we really didn't deserve to win after the way we played that game.

It was just a sloppy game. For us.

We STILL have 6! I don't have to change my license plate now (lol)... AND Pouncey now has time to heal his poor foot.

12 more hours till the Superbowl! Couldn't sleep last night, I was so excited!~ :o)

We were invited to a superbowl party...but since the hubby had watched every game this season at home, on a particular cushion, with just me and the kiddo's....we had to decline (sorry Josh) and do a lil something at home.

But we have lots of goodies here...chicken wings, veggies and ranch, meatballs, bratwurst and sauerkraut, chips and salsa, and a cheese/salsa dip as well...plus sweets!~

I think I gained 5 lbs just writing that! lol

Well, its 6 am...so a little over 12 hrs till kickoff...I am So stoked!~

PINEWOOD DERBY 2011

Bug had his 1st Pinewood Derby event this year. He was given a kit about 3 weeks ago, and had to draw out a design for his car...and then a theme to paint on it.

This called for a DADDY/SON project!~

So Bug drew out the shape he wanted the car and said the only thing he HAD to have on it was FLAMES and it had to be blue like Sonic the Hedgehog. Easy enough right?

Yup!~ :) Brad cut out the shape he drew and then they went to the hobby shop and picked out the paint and weights (his car had to be as close to 5 oz as possible)...SO...

$6 later, and they were set.....and BOY WAS BUG EXCITED!

He worked on it.....

AND VIOLA!~............

It is quite funny because the DAD's are all tweaking the cars, lubing them up and worrying about the race...while the boys run wild..and could care less... :)

He lost one heat (out of 4)and made 4th....(really it was 3rd, but they judged wrong...I think it was harder for ME to not make a stink about the error than it was important to Bug...but in the end I held my tongue since the point is sportsmanship and FUN...and he had a great time! and i learned a lesson myself lol)

Granted it has to be pinned upside down until he does a good deed for someone..then I can sew it on.

I am SOOOOOO proud of him! :o)

I am seriously concerned about my sewing skills though.. :P

this should be interesting. lol

Before they get pinned they get painted in certain colors that represent elements or traits..

my favorite being the red stripe on his chin.... if I catch him in a lie I get to put it there, and he has to wear it so people ask him why he has it there.

He then has to explain and face the lie over and over for the day.

Bug being....well, bug. :P (with his buddy also named Sam)

He is currently working on his pinewood derby car. The race is this Sat at his school from 1-5, and he is SOOO excited. Brad and him went to a workshop last weekend and shaped it. They painted the first coat on Tues, and are finishing it up tonight. I can't WAIT to see how it turns out. The only thing he insisted it have is flames. lol

and while at a party on Saturday.... I ran through an inflatable obstacle course to race the hubby..

and stepped wrong and rolled it. OUCH!

Can't put ANY pressure on it, (I think it hurts worse than it did when i fractured it playing soccer in HS)... but

I am woman hear me ROAR...

Time for a fresh start.

This year I will BE a blessing...not just ask and thank God for them. (though I truly appreciate them)...

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2010...

Ho hO hO... Look who came....!?!? SANTA!~

The kids were up by 6 AM SHARP! And ready to run down the steps. However, having been warned beforehand that we had guests and we would have hot chocolate and wake up a bit before we hit the presents, they were VERY good about waiting. Here they are Christmas morning! My sweeties!~

We did the stockings first...(and as they were too heavy they had to be laid on the fireplace instead of hung! :) lol Bug LOVED his calender...he likes anything that makes him feel "older".. (though I think he fights with that and remaining a kid)... the kid winning out more than not! (thank goodness)..Sam in his Snuggie...

The zumbuddies were the biggest hit....

Then we sent the kids in to wake Nana and Pappy...it was TIME! :)

Then came daddy's...he was a VERY good boy this year..look what Santa brought him!

After about 3 hours..and 3 GUYS later.....we called Geek Squad. They will be here Thursday to set it up! :) LOL.. He is NOT happy! lol
