Over due Post

This actually happened the 3rd week in Dec....

Bug earned his bobcat badge!!!!!!!!!!!

Granted it has to be pinned upside down until he does a good deed for someone..then I can sew it on.

I am SOOOOOO proud of him! :o)

I am seriously concerned about my sewing skills though.. :P

this should be interesting. lol

Before they get pinned they get painted in certain colors that represent elements or traits..

my favorite being the red stripe on his chin.... if I catch him in a lie I get to put it there, and he has to wear it so people ask him why he has it there.

He then has to explain and face the lie over and over for the day.

Bug being....well, bug. :P (with his buddy also named Sam)

She had to wait for all the boys to go first...but when it was her turn she RAN up there and took up most of his time :)...the little turkey.

He is currently working on his pinewood derby car. The race is this Sat at his school from 1-5, and he is SOOO excited. Brad and him went to a workshop last weekend and shaped it. They painted the first coat on Tues, and are finishing it up tonight. I can't WAIT to see how it turns out. The only thing he insisted it have is flames. lol

Santa replied!!

Wow, even though he is SOOOO busy this time of year, he still found the time to get back to the kids!

He is certainly up with the technology these days (as I'm sure he HAS to be)...and they each got a personalized video message from Santa HIMSELF!

And so very quickly too!! ...since we just mailed our letters out Monday!~ :)

Gotta love that reindeer mail! :)

4th of July Fun~~BBQ!~


We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend here!~


Nana, Pappy, Brads brother and his dog all came down to stay for the weekend. Bryan (Brads brother) brought his camper to show us, and the kids were blown away by it. They were even allowed to sleep Sat and Sun night in it! :) Of course they both asked if we could keep it~lol


On Sat, we decided at the very last minute to have a lil BBQ...well...that quickly turned into a mini family reunion for Brad who got to see some cousins he has not seen in about 9 years. It turned out to be a blast and we had quite the crowd!~ I think there were about 15 people here!!

Nana, Pappy, Bryan, Maybn, Bill, Brian H, Kathy, 2 teenage girls, 1 middle school boy (belonging to Kathy), Scott, his wife Katy, their son Ryne, Jimmy, and his wife...plus us 4 :)...


It went great though and was tons of fun. We lit off SO many fireworks...it was ridiculous. And they weren't the little pansy ones either~ :) lol...

Anyway, here are a few pictures and video from the weekend... HUGE thanks to FAMILY and FRIENDS that made it so special by driving SO FAR to come!~ You rock!~

This year instead of going to the fireworks..we decided to have our very own show here..and thanks to Uncle Josh who drove all the way to PA to get them..we had SOOOOO much fun! And we didnt hit any traffic! :) lol

Summer Fun...

We have been outside a lot this summer...and it has just started!

Thus far we have been to Kings Dominion 4 times...the beach...the pool.... and then of course your regular daily activity. Sunscreen has been our bff this summer! So much so, that we are using SPF 100+.

It seems to work....the only sunburn KK got was when we forgot her sunshirt (at the pool) and she spent so much time in the water it (the sunscreen) seemed to wash off.

Note to self: NEVER FORGET SUNSHIRTS!

Thankfully her sunburn wasn't bad....we were lucky.

3 reasons why I love this child SOOOOOO much!

Reason #1: The 1st video is my FAVORITE!! Don't ask me where she picked this up...but she had me in tears I was laughing so hard!...We were at an award ceremony today at Sam's school...(more on that tomorrow)..when she did this she had the entire table paying more attention to her than the award ceremony :)

Reason #2: Same day (today), and she was singing a song as we headed into the ceremony...do you recognize the tune and her own made up words! LOL :)

Reason #3....We had a church picnic this past Sunday and McKayla ASKED me to "videocord" her singing this song...it happens to be one of her favorites... :) The good part is toward the end though...what a HAM!

She is truly a BLESSING and makes each day such a joy. I can not express how much I love this child and what an amazing little girl she is! (though I am a tad bias! lol)

P.S Note that she has taken to carrying a "purse" around...today she had a teapot and a poodle in it! :)

*I will post about Sam's awards soon...he did AWESOME! AND get this! My 6 year old child ate 11 chicken nuggets, a small fry, AND a hot fudge sundae...
