December 30, 2005

Well the holidays are almost over and the New Year is right around the corner! All the guests have left, and we are slowly coming to a sense of "normalness" again! The visits were great though and we loved having everyone! Christmas this year was a BLAST!! Samuel was finally at the age where he loves opening presents....so for the last week and a hlaf before christmas he would say "You can open 1 present....no..gotta wait for Christmas!" Like he would know when it was coming! haha! All he knew was he wanted to open the gifts! ( we had them all out under the tree early.....big mistake.......next year hopefully he'll know who 'santa" is.) Finally Christmas morning came and i went into his room to rouse him.........All I had to say was..."It's christmas..timeeeeeee to open presents" and he shot like a jackrabbit out of bed (stumbling all the while..he was still groggy) and ran and sat in front of the tree going....."Which one Sammy? Which one?".......we had to tell him we had to wait for Popo and Papa to come. Of course the adults had to have thier morning caffeine (coffee), so we made Sammy wait...*mean daddy* Of course I dont drink coffee, but everyone else did. So we finally sit in front of the tree and Sammy goes to town...the first one he opens is from Popo..a shirt from old Navy and he holds it to his chest and says..."oh thats sooo beautifullll".......then hands it to daddy and grabs another one....His favorite thing this year seemed to be a puzzle of the beach...he will sit for an hour and play with that thing......we thought it would be the "tumble time tigger".....he loved it.....but quickly forgets about it. *lesson learned* Anyway our first Christmas with McKayla went without incedent as well....she slept through most of it. She got a bunch of cute clothes!....and diapers. (amen!)....Other than that it will be a quiet New year at home! maybe play a game with the grandparents, and then hit the sack! hahahaha No no no I'm NOT getting old! :) Till next time!
