Frankly I am surprised I haven't seen him before now. Actually I take that back....I DID see him one time in Waikiki (about 4 years ago) while he was filming a show BEFORE he was known...so all we saw was this crazy dude with camera's following him! LOL

We live close to the Police Dept where he drops his guys off...so I would think I would see him A LOT more...

Ah well.. anyway......I was on my way to the bank, and there he was.....(No, I didn't take that picture....I was too excited to even THINK about grabbing my camera..AND I was driving)



Anyway I slowed down, rolled down the window and shouted "what up dog?"

*blushes*

Cheesy I know...but hey, I was caught up in the moment! :)

He looked over and gave me the shaka sign!

Of course everyone was yelling "DOG!"

His wife was in their SUV (man that woman has SOME boobs!) and he was looking HOT!

I know, I know he is old enough to be my father....but the guy is sweet! and his smile! ......:) hehehe

So...there was my total excitement for the week! :) Of course when I called Brad to tell him, he didnt care...

after all he see's Matthew Fox from "Lost" almost everyday jogging or riding his bike in the neighborhood he works in.

On your birthday we decided to take you and your brother to a waterpark called "Hawaiian Water Adventures"

Again....again....if you notice, Sammy is wearing a braclet on his wrist. He had to pass a swim test in order to go on the big slides. The lifegaurds were so surprised he did it, and people were so shocked to see him go on them, we must have heard 1000 times..."look at that little boy mom..."

One of the funnest rides there....we must have went on this about 100 times.

3 days and counting...

Till my baby is 1 year old! It is so hard to believe how much change 1 year can bring!

1 year ago..

I was HUGE and counting the days until I would get to meet my daughter face to face. Praying and hoping for a safe delivery! Waddling around, eating up everything in sight! I remember I was already 3 cm dialted and he had told me I could deliver any day. I was getting phone calls every day asking "is today the day?"....so finally I had to change my answering message to "Hasn't happened yet, but you're on the list to call...please leave a message if this call is regarding anything else" ...ha ha
She was SUCH a kicker too. I should have known that even then she was trying to tell.....wait, scratch that...WARN me for what was ahead! And poor Sammy...he had NO IDEA what was coming! :) Brad was beyond excitment. And loved to watch her roll around and stick out various body parts (an elbow here, and knee there) And though I wasn't sleeping through the night (due to a little someone slamming down on my bladder) I WAS at least catching around 3-4 hours in a row....PLUS the occasional nap during the day.

And now...

a year later, I have this beautiful, stubborn, dramatic, adorable, loving little girl. STILL no sleep, mind you...even less since she insists on nursing throughout the night, and has wormed her away into our bed. BUT the pure joy she brings, the pure joy Sammy brings as he grows! You can't even begin to describe that! Sammy has gone from this timid shy little boy, to this rambuncious, happy, stubborn, loving little man! His vocabulary has gotten AMAZING in a year, though there are times when I just want to stick cotton balls in my ears with the "mommmmmeeeeee........Kayla's touching me"...and "mom can I have....." 's. He is in Pre-K now, and LOVES school! Brad is still with his company and seems to be happy for the most part. though we are both looking forward to the day we move back to the mainland to buy a house and be closer to more family. *the trick will be convincing Papa and Jane to move as well* LOL yeah right. Anyway....I have to say that it has been one CRAZY, WONDERFUL, Adventure, and I look forward to seeing what the future has in store for us!

For McKayla's birthday we were thinking about doing this HUGE hoop-la thing with a tent, bouncer and catered food at the beach...but after talking it over with DH we decided to wait until she is around 3 and has a few friends to enjoy it all with. I know in HAwaii it is a huge tradition to have a party (they spend as much as they would on a wedding sometimes, I kid you not) and all that..but we really can't see doing all that when she won't have a clue, and it would be mostly adults. SO...instead we have decided to just go to HAwaiian Water Adventures and make a day of it there. She LOVES the water, and Sammy didnt get to go for his birthday...so it would be fun for the whole family! As far as her presents go, we normally like to buy 1 big thing and then a few smaller things. (These kids are SPOILED enough! :))So for her "big" present we decided to get her a little kitchen to play with. She loves to play with Sammy's Little Tykes tool bench so I figured....well....it was something I could play with her with as well! Plus Sammy plays with is at school, so it was something they could play with together as well.

well, the princess sleeps....and Kai is on his way over...Sammy at school. So I better do one last child proof sweep before he gets here! My love to all!!~~

Sickies Anyone?

Well, it seems to be going around...though *knock on wood* we didn't get it quite as bad as a few friends and their families.

Both the kids are battling colds.

McKayla is all congestion....I am talkin' nose, chest, and throat. You can hear her breathe IN AND OUT! (which I guess is better then NOT having her breathe eh? LOL)

Samuel is coughing and has chest congestion...he is also running a slight temp. I decided to keep him home from school today!

So...I am playing "nurse" today as well. (hey, who said you can't still play make believe when you grow up? lol)

I, myself am going through a few medical issues at the moment. Nothing too major. :) ;)

Our weekend went o.k Dad and Jane are in Vegas....so it was relatively quiet...not to mention both the kids being sick. It was low-key.

My mom sent this video to me...I think it was to remind me to look at the bigger picture....and be thankful for what I have..and make the MOST of life.

Happy Halloween!

Well, a day later isn't that bad! :) hehehe...Our halloween passed here in Hawaii...pretty much with no major events.

First off, Sammy has school...and his school did a trick or treat street. I volunteered to help, but they had enough helpers!

Sammy came home with a TON of snacks. They only handed out like 5 pieces of candy...the rest were pretzels, chips, juice boxes, pencils etc...and yes ladies and gentlemen...

ONLY IN HAWAII will you get a bag of saimin in a trick or treat bag. (ramen noodles to you mainlanders)

We had decided we were going to take Sammy to the Bishop Museum (after school) to do a treat street there, since they had bouncers and games and what not (much like the one we went to last thurs)...BUT....

well, the weather didn't cooperate...we were under flash flood warnings...it was HOT and muggy...and traffic was going NO WHERE with 17 accidents on the highways and major throughfares.

SO....

We took a half hour to seriously get around the block to get to ward center in which it would have taken us ( I kid you not) 10 minutes to walk to.

Sammy had so much fun he must have said "mommy guess what?"...."I love you"..around 60 times (after each store we went into)...but by the time we were almost done.....he was DONE!

I think he was a little overstimulated with all the costumes and getting free candy....he had a melt down.

So, we left for a quick bite at the 'oh so healthy' McDonalds. McKayla was with Popo and Papa, so Sammy really enjoyed the daddy, mommy and sammy time! :)

Then it was off for home for baths, and bedtime. Both of which went with no complaints from the kids!~

Here we are today....sammy has has asked to go trick or treating tonight "but only after dinner right mommy"...like thats going to make me say o.k :)

We are once again battling horrible weather. Flash floods, and landslides! We are hoping Brad makes it home from the other side of the island since they are closing down roads right and left!

*sigh*....well, I better tend to my crockpot spaghetti!

Halloween Hoop~la

Tonight we decided to take Sammy over to the Blaisdelle for an early trick or treating event they held for the kids....sponsered by the local colleges and universities.

As you can tell by the MANY pictures below we had a blast!!

We had to wait for Kai the little boy I watch to be picked up...his parents were a tad late...and as you can see...my bugs were not happy!....(bugs...hehehe Kayla's a bee)




So to kill some time...Mckayla played with the mailbox keys!




And walked around the lobby!

We play some games first....like fishing...





Then we decide to use our "super powers" and go down the BIG slide and obstacle course behind us...(that is apple juice by the way...the kids served them with gummy worms in a "saloon" to the kids)

A day at the Pumpkin Patch!!!

YAY! What a fun weekend!! We decided on Sunday to visit the pumpkin patch so Sammy and McKayla could pick out pumpkins to carve!

As you can see we took LOTS of pictures!! I hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed TAKING them!! ~~

*sigh* After such a busy day...it was nice to snuggle up with daddy!........
