Our weekend in a nutshell! :)

We had another busy weekend! :)

Saturday was Bug's last soccer game! And speaking of Bug, and Saturday....guess who lost his 3rd tooth???

*sigh*

Has anyone figured out the formula to keep them this age forever yet?

This darn tooth has been wiggly FOREVER! It has seemed to bother me way more than him, as I would annoyingly ask each day if it fell out, and then insist on doing a "wiggle check"...

FINALLY...on Saturday Morning I awoke to an excited Bug standing at my bed at 5:45 A.M...waiting for me to open my eyes..so he can PROUDLY show me his tooth and tell me the PRECISE time it fell out! :)

Then he stated it was a miracle, and also his lucky day. Looking right at me for the ultimate confirmation...

a nod of mom's head.

I give it.

All is well in our world! :)

Bug insisted he had to write the tooth fairy a letter or she wouldn't know he lost his tooth...(since I guess he remembers when he spit his tooth out into the sink, and we had to write her a letter to let her know..see here..to catch up)...

Here is his letter....and tooth..

and here it is set up under his pillow...all ready for the lil' lady..

HERE IS THE NEXT MORNING!!!...he cracks me up! :)

His "loot"...(:P)

H eheheheh ANOTHER huge event in the Brenneman household~ :) LOL

Thanks for joining us! :)

1st Grade Play....

Bug had his 1st grade play yesterday....

He was a violin! And although they did not use costumes.....I still say Bug was the cutest violin there! :) Of course I tend to be bias! :)

Here is my boy in action!....

He is so proud of himself...and so am I!!!

Here is a video of him saying his line....his voice is the loudest one! :)....

Look, I'm a violin....well sorta...

It was somewhat of a musical...here he is singing and doing what he does best....

Meanwhile here are Drama Mama and her friend Sophia from across the street. These 2 were so crazy! THATS why the camera shakes the whole time during the video...*rolls her eyes*

WAY TO GO BUG!! I AM SOOOOO PROUD OF YOU!!!

I am the luckiest mom in the world to have this boy!

At least she keep things interesting....

McKayla has had to be on a nebulizer for the last few weeks, and what was once "fun" for her....is now a challenge. She is officially tired of it.

Well...SHE decided that this would spice things up a bit. enjoy.

The last few days in a nutshell....

We had a VERY busy weekend...always on the go... (I thought this picture said it all!)..

Friday night Sam had a friend from church sleep over (which was a TOTAL surprise for him when we picked him up after school)...he was so happy, and I set up the tent in the living room and they had a BLAST! Then first thing Sat. morning we had Sam's soccer game and then had pictures right after that....then we had to be at the church by 1 for the Easter Egg Hunt and party....all free and provided by the church! THANKS GRACE!

see all the eggs?...there were 15,000 spread out....this is just one age group out of 6..

Kayla getting ready with her age group....

Sam ready with his...

A video of after the egg hunt....they are both DYING to open their eggs to see what they got...

Checking out the loot inside to see if he won a Nint*endo D*S......

No D*S...just LOTS of candy for mommy to eat! lol..yum yum....(Kayla REALLY liked the egg hunt...and then the fact that there was stuff INSIDE the eggs were an even bigger bonus!!)

Kayla getting a double sip of Sp*rite and Co*ke....(she stole my cup and I CAUGHT her doing this...you should have seen the face she gave me after I took this and said something!)

Also filling up on ice cream...

By the time we got home (around 5) the kids were pretty tukered out. Kayla was in zone mode, and Sam was just exhausted! Oh, by the way, he scored his 2nd goal of the season!! :) He was SOOO proud of himself! Hang, I was So proud of him too!

Anyway, Sunday we went to church, out to breakfast at Sam's FAVORITE place "Mac's Breakfast Anytime" and then home to nap, after that we went back into town, did grocery shopping and finally home.

Needless to say it was an early night for us all! And we missed the HANG out of daddy! (Kayla kissing her brother goodnight after our "God Bless's"..

Grandpa had a project for him and Sam to do together while he was here re-routing the automatic sprinkler system...here are a few pic's from today...(it was beautiful out..at leat 80!)

the before shot...

Sam bringing the flowers over...

Grandpa and Sam sorting them...

A video of them planting.....

Getting the water to bring over....

Grandpa and the troops....(note the crown on missy's head)..

What kind of work? teamwork!....lol.. Kayla sang this while they planted...she was their cheerleader of sort...

My little Drama Queen!

She touched this butterfly at least 3 times!...It really liked her..

I HAD to post this one...since Grandpa is SOOOOO cute in his boots....I just LOVE it! :)...

After work...comes play....

LOVE to you all and have a SAFE spring break.

P.S Did I mention I am headed to Florida on Friday... BY MYSELF.. for 4 days ..to visit Autumn, a friend/roomie I have known since middle school. I am SOOO excited. More on that another time!!

BLESSED=ME!!!!

A friend of mine (the one Bug has a crush on) came over last night to let the kids play with the newest addition to her family....HANK the TANK.

And Kayla's turn...

Then it was time for bed, and I had to get this on video...it normally lasts about 2 minutes longer with the Sam naming everyone in the world he can think of, and Kayla giggling. Here is the "short" version. Nana and Tony and Katie and Alek weren't mentioned this time (since I cut it short), but are included EVERY night as well.

LOVE to all!

NO MORE DIAPERS!!!

McKayla is now 100% potty trained. She is in her big girl panties at night, and I am SOOO proud of her! Granted she could have been trained sooner had mommy not offered water at bedtime every night.

Lesson learned! :)

I am SOOO proud of her.

But Sam asked me the other day when the baby was coming out of my belly.

Does he know something I don't? LOL...He has asked for a little brother about 15 times now. Only because his cousin just welcomed one and he wants EVERYTHING his cousin has.
Guess what Sam?
Not this time buddy....
at least not yet! :)

The BEST weekend EVER!

I had such a wonderful weekend thanks to a surprise visit from my husband. (he is normally NOT one for surprises so it made it that much more special!!) :)

I was walking through a store in town with the kids when I looked up to see this cute guy ducking behind some ladies cart.

I thought to myself as I caught his eye for a fraction of a second "Man that guys is cute...he looks like Brad" ...and then I had like a mini flashback in my head of his face and I did a double take....Well he pops up and says "surprise honey!"...

Sam is like "Dad?"..."what are you doing here?"...and McKayla is standing on the end of the cart, and she looks over at Brad and starts talking to him, as she is normally VERY friendly with everyone and considers herself somewhat of a celebrity that must greet and wave to everyone that passes by....until she realizes it was Daddy, and then she starts excitedly grabbing stuff OUT if the cart to show him...talking 55 miles an hour....she got so excited...she really DIDN'T know what to do with herself. It was the cutest thing!! Brad just ate it up. I can't even begin to tell you how hard it has been for him to be away from the kids. Away from his family. It's hard on me handling the kids myself 24/7....but I would take that ANY day over NOT seeing them.

Anyway...

THAT started my weekend off with the BIGGEST smile! :)

And it just got better. On Sat, Bug had his second soccer game (brrrr!!!) and Daddy FINALLY got to see one (he had come down a few weeks ago on what was supposed to be his first game but was rained out)..

Here is a video of my soccer playing son! I am SOOOO proud!~(it was so cold he kept his jacket on in the begininning)

And his 2nd game (after the practice)....1st kick in ever! :)...Go Bug!..

After the game we spent the afternoon outside "playing"...

And then after a GREAT dinner at Pik-n-Pig...Brad and I settled in to FINALLY watch Fireproof.

I HIGHLY recommend not only watching the movie...but also taking the dare presented in a book you can get. Both Brad and I are doing this. I had gotten a copy of the book at church last week, but really didnt think Brad would get involved (aside from watching the movie). Well....they were out of them this Sunday and Brad was kinda bummed...so I gave him mine.

Now I have to find another copy. LOL....

Sunday we went to church and continues the "fireproof your marriage" series. It is so awesome to have a church that truly cares about the WELL being of its member. Have I told you lately how much i LOVE this church!?!? HERE are some sermons if you want to get a taste of what I am talking about and WHY I love it so much. This past Sunday's isnt on yet (but it was AWESOME!)...I DARE you to download one and listen. (:P) Anyway...after the service I had nursery so Brad took the kids home while I stayed and played in the toddler room~ :P LOVE it!...

Then sadly Brad had to head back around 4. It was a lot harder this time for him to leave...at least for me. I normally handle it pretty well...but this time it wsa hard to keep it together for the kids. They took it hard as well.

I have to remind myself that we will be together soon. It is looking like we are moving to VA in June sometime. And we are luckier than most at this time as Brad got a great job running a cabinet shop. I pray for those that continue to deal with the harshness of the economy. And for those that have a job to REMEMBER and GIVE to those in need.

My love to all~ God bless!!

P.S. Hugs to my cousin Kate...this past St. Patty's Day was REALLY hard on her..since it was the day she had met her husband. Please check in on her and offer words of support if you have the time! She would appreicate more than you could imagine!

Fireproof....

O.k...so we started this series at church a few weeks ago...and I have to say how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

I haven't seen the movie, since I am waiting for Brad and I to be in the same room/state so we can enjoy and relate to it together. But I HAVE seen clips of it here and there at church and I can't begin to tell you how excited I am to see it and start the 40 day "project me/us". I love that my church is also involved.

It isn't that I think my marriage is in trouble, and we need help...but I feel marriage IS a work in progress, and if there are things I can do, both for myself and my spouse, to IMPROVE and grow...then I am ALL for it.

I am about to begin the book, but have been waiting to read it until after I saw the movie (which, by the way, can be found at any Redbox, Netflix, or movie store)...
I'm just not so sure I can wait! :)

The book can be found at Amazon.

I will surely be writing more on this in the future. And if there is anyone who has read or seen the movie...or if you are interested in doing it as well, let me know....I would love to have someone (besides my hubby) to discuss it with!

Love to all!!!!!

Oh, the memories we make.....

The first video is of Brad hiding under the covers to surprise the kids...he drove all the way down to see Sam's first soccer game (which was cancelled due to RAIN!)....But their reaction is priceless!....

Kayla, of course, was attached to him like GLUE!

And then last night, I wasn't feeling to swell, so Grandma and Grandpa offered to read the kids their bedtime story.... *sigh*
I just LOVE these video's and pictures! They truly ARE priceless!!!

It started off with Kayla "reading" to Grandma, and then Grandma to her...

Awwww.....

And then of course Sam wanted to be involved, but instead chose to READ it TO Grandma...I truly lOVE this video on so many levels! :)

Not to be left out.....McKayla insisted on getting Grandpa involved...

She LOVES her grandpa!....

THANKS for the memories!

PRICELESS I tell ya....just priceless! :)

2nd reason:

This is a random conversation between my son and I....and yes, the words are just about as exact as you can get......

Bug came up to me yesterday as I was making taco's and out of the blue says:

"Mom, .....what would happen if I married Kaykay?"

Kind of caught off guard I say "Pardon Me?"

So he repeats his question "What would happen if I married Mckayla?"

I am GRINNING at this point....

"Honey, you cant marry McKayla...she is your sister, and you can't marry your sister"..

he walks away.

About an hour later he walks up to me again....

"mom....what would happen if I married Auntie Mimi?"

I look at him confused.

"Why are you asking me that Sam?"

"what would happen? what is her last name?"

"First off, auntie Mimi is already married honey, and second her last name is "smith"
*name has been changed to protect the identity of his love interest! LOL)*

"So I would be Samuel Cody "Smith"???....hahahaha thats so funny mom...it sounds craaaaazy... *insert frown*....WHO is she married to....why is she already married?"
(note that her last name IS something pretty...ummm...diffferent"

"No, IF you did, and remember that she is ALREADY married, but if you DID marry her, then she would be Mimi Brenneman...but she married Uncle Kim...you remember him right?"

"What about Kayla?"

"What about her?"

"What will she be?"

"Well, she will be McKayla Brenneman until she gets married and then her last name will change to whatever her husbands is"..

"Ohhhhhhhhhhh..... *frowns* .....so I cant marry auntie Mimi...so who am I going to marry mom? Who are we going to get Kayla to marry"

He sits there and seriously ponders this for at least 2 full minutes...naming off everyone in his class.......

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH sweetie...YOU'RE ONLY 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's a few added bonus smiles! (thanks Amber! lol)....

7 Reasons Not To Mess With Children

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.
The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small.
The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.
Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.
The little girl said, 'When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah'.
The teacher asked, 'What if Jonah went to hell?'
The little girl replied, 'Then you ask him'.
......................................................................

A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work.
As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was.
The girl replied, 'I'm drawing God.'
The teacher paused and said, 'But no one knows what God looks like.'
Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, 'They will in a minute.'
..................................................................

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds. After explaining the commandment to 'honour' thy Father and thy Mother, she asked, 'Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?'
Without missing a beat one little boy (the oldest of a family) answered, 'Thou shall not kill.'
..............................................................

One day a little girl was sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly noticed that her mother had several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head.
She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked, 'Why are some of your hairs white, Mum?'
Her mother replied, 'Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white.'
The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and then said, 'Mummy, how come ALL of grandma's hairs are white?'
.........................................................

The children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a copy of the group picture.
'Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say, 'There's Jennifer, she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor.'
A small voice at the back of the room rang out, 'And there's the teacher, she's dead.'
.....................................................

A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, 'Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face.'
'Yes,' the class said.
'Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?'
A little fellow shouted,
'Cause your feet ain't empty.'
..................................................

I LIKE THE NEXT ONE IN PARTICULAR

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray:
'Take only ONE . God is watching.'
Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.
A child had written a note, 'Take all you want. God is watching the apples.'

Love to you all! Have a GREAT DAY!!
